LONG HOUSE

Corinella | Westernport | Bunurong Country

This renovation and extension of a volume built 1990s split level holiday house includes a series of changes to create a permanent family home that taps into the power of the sun and long views, and connects the building to its bush context.

Originally a small weekender, the building is extended along an east-west axis to form a series of energy efficient spaces with north orientation and cross-ventilation, zoned for living, working and creating.

Openings are positioned to extend views out into the landscape and capture cooling summer breezes, and windows, insulation and building services are upgraded to contemporary energy efficiency standards.
